Werner LEANSAFE™ Ladder Recognized as Innovative Product Category Leader

September 6, 2018  Greenville, PA – Werner, the world leader in ladders and manufacturer of a complete line of climbing products and fall protection equipment, is proud to announce that the LEANSAFE™ Ladder was honored as EC&M Magazine’s 2018 Product of the Year Gold Winner and will be showcased in the magazine’s August issue.

EC&M Magazine acknowledges the most innovative products in the electrical industry of the past year, along with the talent and commitment of those involved with all aspects of development. After reviewing more than 150 product submissions, a panel of industry judges identified 36 category winners, as part of phase-one of the selection process. The Werner LEANSAFE™ Ladder won the category of “tools, equipment” for the product’s innovation and the ability to save end-users time and enhance productivity. For the phase two part of the process, EC&M Magazine readers then determined the products that would win the Platinum, Gold and Silver awards recognition. The Werner LEANSAFE™ Ladder was awarded with the prestigious gold honor.

“Werner develops innovative solutions through extensive product design and development,” said Chris Filardi, Vice President of Marketing for Werner Co. As part of that process, our ultimate goal is to look for new ways to protect our end users while increasing their performance capabilities. The LEANSAFE™ Ladder provides professionals with the ability to do their job more efficiently and effectively and we are honored by the recognition from EC&M.”

Exclusive New Design Features

The Werner LEANSAFE™ Ladder remains OSHA-compliant while leaning against walls, poles, bare studs or corners. Per OSHA regulations, traditional step ladders should never be leaned directly against a vertical surface because they are designed to be entirely self-supporting. However, Werner’s LEANSAFE™ Ladder introduces new features allowing it to be leaned against a variety of surfaces while retaining its functionality as a traditional step ladder.

Standard features on the Werner LEANSAFE™ Ladder include a Type 1A Duty Rating and a load capacity of up to 300 lbs. It is constructed of seven-layer fiberglass, making it safe to use when working around electricity and is available in a variety of sizes ranging from four feet to twelve feet in height. The new LEANSAFE™ Ladder is both a standard step ladder and a leaning ladder, all-in-one.
